The HABIT's House

She kept the serious look on her face then said, "I'll have to try it sometime, very fashionable." her mouth twitched as she tried not to smile and laugh.

Asher slowly came into conscious to hear the last few sentences. He rolled over and stretched, a wide yawn taking over him as he got up and fluffed out his fur. "Torture?" He rolled the word through his mouth a few moments, head tilted. "What does THAT mean? It sounds funny!" He innocently squeaked

'Of course he heard that part..' she thought to herself as she turned towards Asher, not knowing what she should answer with.

HABIT's eyes widened in realization, and he broke into soft laughter. "Haha, you'll learn, one day! One step at a time, Asher" he said and got up, nosing the kit to his paws. Asher giggled and bounced on his paws. "Stop stop stop stop stop" HABIT chuckled and put a paw on his head. His paw was huge compared to the kit, and slapped down on him like a lump of heavy weight. Asher only giggled louder as he fell down against the weight, pinned under his paw. "You're so big!!" Asher squeaked and with all his might, pushed his father's paw up slowly

Varrmina smiled and watched the two play. She had never really noticed how big HABIT was, but now as she observed him with Asher she had time to take it in. His shoulders were broad and muscular, and his legs held obvious power, even through his thick pelt. His eyes were an icy blue, beautiful when looked at close enough, though most of his victims probably didn't pay attention to the color of his eyes. She looked deeper, he certainly had quite a complex personality, and under all of the cold andmurderous nonsense you found what he was really like. Affectionate and caring were a few ways that she herself would describe him, there was more of course. There was always more.

"AHH!! HABIT ATTACK!!" HABIT called before picking up the kit and falling back in a bundle of legs and tail. "Oh no!!" Asher squeaked and flailed as HABIT rolled over and captured Asher in a bundle.

Vaermina let out a small laugh before her stomach started making noises. Suddenly she was once again reminded that unlike the majority of what seemed to be in this house, she was supposed to eat every now and then. She tried to ignore it at the moment, wanting to keep from interrupting HABIT and Asher's bonding.

Asher slipped out and hopped over, hiding behind Vaermina. "Mommy!!" He giggled as HABIT lunged forward, tackling them both with ease

Vaermina laughed and let out an "Oomph" as she hit the floor. She batted at the sides of his head playfully, claws sheathed as she did so just to distract him, then brought her back paws up and tried to push him off.

They rolled for a moment before HABIT heard her stomach rumble. "Whoops! I forgot you two were mortal for a second!" He chuckled. "How about we go hunting? Asher can come, I'll be with him" he said and stood, fluffing out

She smiled, "Sounds good to me!" before rolling back to her feet. "It'd be good for him to learn how to stalk." Vaermina smoothed down her pelt and looked over at the door, ready to go.

The door clicked open on command, HABIT picking Asher up and walking out of the door. "Where are we going--oh!! Is that outside!!" Asher squeals could be heard, filled with wonder.

Vaermina trotted out the door happily. "Yes it is, and you must behave and do what your father says or you'll have to go home early. We wouldn't want the bad cats catching you." she said before scenting the air.

"Bad cats! Oh, no! What bad cats, Daddy?" Asher gasped, eyes innocently wide. "A silver shecat with black stripes that is missing an eye, and a big tan Tom with green eyes. They're bad. Always run away from them, they'll eat you!" He said as he walked, Asher gasping again as his eyes widened more. "Why would they wanna hurt me??" "Because they're bad"

"Yep." was all Vaermina said as she finished scenting the air. There were some squirrels around, and there was a hint of mouse. She began to follow the scent of a squirrel, taking light steps toward it.

Asher didn't even question it, he was too young to understand. HABIT realized once more how fast the tomkit was growing. In the short time he had been with him, his eyes opened, and he talked. He was only about four-five days old...

Vaermina suddenly stopped and dropped into a stalk. She moved forward slowly and soundlessly, their was a squirrel at the base of an oak tree. She suddenly stopped and drew back a leg, she was going to sprint for this one. She bunched up and took a large leap forward, landing only three tail-lengths away from her prey. It tried to scurry up the tree, but she was too fast for it. She had it in her jaws and was trotting back towards HABIT in a matter of seconds.

HABIT nodded, impressed in his own messed up little way. "Dad's turn!" HABIT grinned and set the kit down next to Vaermina. He knew how hard it was, hunting with Evan's milky white pelt. He stuck out like a sore thumb! But, either way, he slipped forward. His stalk was so perfect it was like a rolling sea. Shoulder blades moving in perfect rhythm, paws so plush when he placed them flat it didn't make even the slightest thought of a sound, eyes so sharp he could see the tiniest beetle from across the clearing, nose so keen, you don't even want to know. All of this, got him to a wood dove that was hiding among the leaves. Asher watched with wide eyes as his father stalked and crouched. HABIT wiggled his haunches, before leaping. He rose into the air, body stretching on a perfect arc and landing right on top of the bird. His weight, when he landed, instantly snapped the creatures neck and then some. He picked it up and strolled back to them, his eyes wearing the smirk that would've been under his nose if not for the bird he held.

Vaermina grinned as HABIT began to head back their way, she had wrapped her rail around Asher so that she could watch him and make sure that the little one didn't run off at the same time. "Impressive, but I thought that birds were too tough for your taste?" she teased. "Are you even going to eat it? It would be a terrible waste of prey." her grin grew wider as she nagged him.

"Me? Eating because I have to? Please. Cats flesh is all you will see besides pizza entering this mouth" HABIT chuckled before setting the bird before Asher. "It's for the kit"

"There are a lot of things that I don't know of that are common in the life of humans aren't there." She said, laying her ears back as HABIT mentioned 'pizza'. "And are you sure that he can handle meat yet? He's awefully young." she fretted.

"Haha, Asher, open your mouth" HABIT chuckled. Asher peeled his lips back and opened his jaws to reveal sharp needle teeth. "He's development is increasing rapidly, he'll be training in a few days at this rate" HABIT said as he gave the prey to Asher

She nodded as she looked the teeth, shed never known a kit to do all of these things so quickly, Asher was indeed something special.

"Training? I want to train!" Asher looked up from where he was nibbling on the bird. "Do you want to be crushed? You have you get bigger first" HABIT chuckled. "I can get bigger!" "You will be bigger, patience"

Vaermina smiled at the kit's enthusiasm. As long as they kept him believing that their side was good and that HABIT didn't eat kits, he'd be a valuable asset.
